Wherever I may go, there I am

These are only a small fraction of my photos (some taken by me, some taken by close friends) from my year of teaching English in Indonesia. They are not in any particular order, unfortunately! Indonesia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and sadly, probably the least understood. I can only say that had I listened to everyone telling me not to go there, I would have missed out on the best year of my life. So, raise a glass to risk-taking, a life-less-ordinary, and enjoy my blog!

In the village

Villagers living near Gunung Rinjani. The man is sucking on beetlenut... very disgusting stimulant of some kind that makes your teeth and lips red!
